Giving gifts for a Happy Hanukkah

By Tonya and Nick Smith

My family will exchange gifts with one another to commentate our Jewish Brothers and sisters who found rest from a time of persecution. We will celebrate December 18-26 2022 with them.

Hanukkah is similar to the pattern of Megilat Esther….. therefore I am not against GIFT GIVING for Hanukkah

Zechariah 2:14-17 [Tree of Life Version]

14 “‘Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will live among you’[a]—it is a declaration of Adonai. 15 ‘In that day many nations will join themselves to Adonai and they will be My people and I will dwell among you.’ Then you will know that Adonai-Tzva’ot has sent me to you. 16 Adonai WILL INHERIT JUDAH AS HIS PORTION in the holy land and will once again choose Jerusalem. 17 Be silent before Adonai, all flesh, for He has aroused Himself from His holy dwelling.”

Esther 9:19 This is why the rural Jews, who live in the villages, observe the fourteenth day of the month of Adar as a day of joy and feasting. It is a holiday for SENDING GIFTS to one another.

Celebrating a future rebuilding of Yah’s temple is a good thing to celebrate. Our Jewish brothers gained the right to rest and to share Torah with us

During time of the Maccabees our brother was prohibited to practice 1. circumcision, 2. Shabbat 3. Torah study 4. and the Temple services.

Isn’t it a good thing they were able to find rest from persecution because they were liberated from such horrible persecution

Nehemiah 8:10 Then Nehemiah told them, “Go and eat what is rich, drink what is sweet, and send out portions to those who have nothing prepared, since today is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength

Nehemiah 8:12 Then all the people began to eat and drink, to send out portions, and to rejoice greatly, BECAUSE THEY UNDERSTOOD the words that had been made known to them.

Revelation 3:10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I will also keep you from the hour of testing that is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

I am so thankful my Jewish brothers and sisters in 1492 were able to flee persecution and come to America to find rest truly it was Yah who went before them and preserved them so that we might have Torah today

Esther 9:22

As the days wherein the Jews RESTED FROM THEIR ENEMIES, and the month which was turned unto them from SORROW TO JOY, and from mourning into a good day: that they should make them days of feasting and joy, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor.

Why would someone not want to celebrate and giving gifts to commemorate such a time is beyond me. But, I am not against it……

Our brother Judah had fled so many times because of the briars, thorns and thistles that persecute them

The Jews were expelled from England on Av 9 (July 18) 1290.

• The Jews were expelled from France on Av 9 (July 22) 1306.

• The Jews were expelled from Spain on Av 9 (July 31) 1492.

I can’t wait for the day….. we are one house!

John 10:23 Yahusha’s standing there! Is pointing us to a future day when the righteous will be changed in a moment.
